1 Chronicles 21:30 meaning and explanation
but David could not go before it to inquire of God, because he was afraid of the sword of the angel of the LORD.
1 Chronicles 21:30, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The Chronicler explains why David stayed at Ornan's threshing floor rather than going to the Mosaic tabernacle at Gibeon, where the altar of burnt offering stood. After the angel's drawn sword appeared over Jerusalem, David was afraid to approach God there, so the threshing floor became his place of sacrifice and inquiry.
