After the exile, the Chronicler lists who resettled Jerusalem, and verse 10 turns from lay families to the priests. Jedaiah, Jehoiarib and Jachin were heads of priestly divisions; Jehoiarib and Jedaiah appear among the twenty-four courses David organized (1 Chronicles 24), and a Jachin is named there too.
