1 Corinthians 11:28 meaning and explanation
Each one must examine himself before he eats of the bread and drinks of the cup.
1 Corinthians 11:28, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is correcting the Corinthian church's gatherings, where the wealthy ate and drank to excess while poorer members went hungry, so the shared meal no longer resembled the Lord's Supper. In verse 28 he turns from the community's failure to each person's responsibility.
