1 Corinthians 7:22 meaning and explanation
For he who was a slave when he was called by the Lord is the Lord’s freedman. Conversely, he who was a free man when he was called is Christ’s slave.

Paul is answering questions the Corinthian believers sent him about marriage, singleness and social status. In verses 17 to 24 he tells each person to remain in the situation where God called them, and verse 22 gives the reason: status before people does not decide status before Christ.
