1 Kings 14:20, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
This verse closes the account of Jeroboam, the first king of the northern kingdom of Israel, who was told by the prophet Ahijah that God had raised him up but who then set up golden calves and led the people into idolatry. The summary of his twenty-two year reign and his death is a standard formula used throughout Kings, and the note that he rested with his fathers means he died and was buried, not that he was honored.
