1 Kings 22:12 meaning and explanation
And all the prophets were prophesying the same, saying, “Go up to Ramoth-gilead and prosper, for the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
1 Kings 22:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Ahab, king of Israel, has gathered about four hundred prophets to ask whether he should attack Ramoth-gilead, and here they answer in one voice. Their words echo the covenant promise language of Deuteronomy 20, where the LORD gives victory to Israel's armies, so the message sounds orthodox.
