1 Kings 5:9 meaning and explanation

My servants will haul the logs from Lebanon to the Sea, and I will float them as rafts by sea to the place you specify. There I will separate the logs, and you can take them away. And in exchange, you can meet my needs by providing my household with food.”

1 Kings 5:9, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Hiram, king of Tyre, is replying to Solomon’s request for cedar and cypress timber from Lebanon. In this verse he accepts the terms and describes the logistics: his men will fell the trees, haul the logs to the Mediterranean coast, bind them into rafts, and float them to whatever port Solomon names, where they will be separated for pickup.
