Explanation preview
The narrator describes Solomon's building of the temple and here gives the purpose of its innermost room. That room, the Most Holy Place, was a cube of twenty cubits, and Solomon prepared it to house the ark of the covenant, the gold-covered chest holding the tablets of the law that Israel had carried through the wilderness.
