1 Samuel 19:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Michal, Saul's daughter and David's wife, is stalling her father's messengers after lowering David out a window. To buy time, she takes a household idol, a small cult figure kept in the home, and arranges it in David's bed with goat hair at the head and a covering over it, so the shape looks like a sleeping man.
