Then Saul stripped off his robes and also prophesied before Samuel. And he collapsed and lay naked all that day and night. That is why it is said, “Is Saul also among the prophets?”

Saul has come to Ramah to arrest David, but the Spirit of God seizes him instead. He strips off his royal robes and lies exposed before Samuel all day and night, and the old proverb is applied to him: “Is Saul also among the prophets?” The scene reverses his earlier anointing, when he was among the prophets and given a new heart.
