1 Samuel 6:13, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The Philistines had captured the ark in battle and suffered plagues, so they sent it back on a cart drawn by two milk cows, testing whether the LORD was truly behind their disaster. Beth-shemesh was a Levite town near the border, and its people were in the valley harvesting wheat, likely late spring.
