1 Samuel 9:23 meaning and explanation
And Samuel said to the cook, “Bring the portion I gave you and told you to set aside.”
1 Samuel 9:23, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Samuel is hosting Saul at the sacrificial meal on the high place, having already been told by God that this Benjamite is the man who will lead Israel. The command to the cook shows that Samuel had planned ahead: a choice portion had been set aside before Saul ever arrived.
