1 Timothy 5:24 meaning and explanation
The sins of some men are obvious, going ahead of them to judgment; but the sins of others do not surface until later.
1 Timothy 5:24, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is writing to Timothy, a young pastor in Ephesus, about how the church should treat its members and leaders. In verses 19 to 22 he has just warned against hasty accusations and quick ordinations, and verse 24 continues that thought: some people's sins are plain and seem to arrive at judgment ahead of them, while others stay hidden and only come to light afterward.
