Explanation preview
After the night vision at Gibeon, where God granted him wisdom and wealth, Solomon returns to Jerusalem. The Chronicler notes that he left "before the Tent of Meeting," the Mosaic tabernacle still standing at Gibeon, while David had already set up a separate tent for the ark in Jerusalem.
