2 Chronicles 10:2 meaning and explanation
When Jeroboam son of Nebat heard about this, he returned from Egypt, where he had fled from King Solomon.
2 Chronicles 10:2, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jeroboam had fled to Egypt because Solomon, alerted by the prophet Ahijah that Jeroboam would rule ten tribes, sought his life. Now Solomon is dead and his son Rehoboam is being crowned at Shechem, so Jeroboam comes back from exile at exactly the moment the northern tribes need a leader to voice their grievances.
