Those from every tribe of Israel who had set their hearts to seek the LORD their God followed the Levites to Jerusalem to sacrifice to the LORD, the God of their fathers.
2 Chronicles 11:16, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
After Jeroboam set up rival worship in the northern kingdom, the Levites and priests moved south to Jerusalem, and verse 16 describes ordinary Israelites from every tribe joining them. The Chronicler, writing for the returned exiles, presents this as a deliberate choice: these people set their hearts to seek the LORD, the God of their fathers, rather than the state religion Jeroboam had created.
