2 Chronicles 21:15 meaning and explanation
And day after day you yourself will suffer from a severe illness, a disease of your bowels, until it causes your bowels to come out.’”
2 Chronicles 21:15, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These words come from a letter the prophet Elijah sent to King Jehoram of Judah, who had murdered his own brothers and led the nation into idolatry modeled on the house of Ahab. The announced illness is not random misfortune but the covenant curse for a king who abandoned the LORD, matching the pattern of judgment promised in the law for flagrant rebellion.
