2 Chronicles 25:27 meaning and explanation
From the time that Amaziah turned from following the LORD, a conspiracy was formed against him in Jerusalem, and he fled to Lachish. But men were sent after him to Lachish, and they killed him there.

Verse 27 closes Amaziah's reign with the outcome the chapter has been building toward. The Chronicler has already shown him doing right but not wholeheartedly (verse 2), hiring troops from the northern kingdom, then bowing to the gods of Edom he had just defeated (verse 14).
