Explanation preview
This verse introduces Uzziah, who became king of Judah at sixteen after his father Amaziah was killed. His fifty-two year reign in Jerusalem made him one of Judah's longest reigning kings, and the Chronicler notes his mother Jecoliah, a woman of Jerusalem, as he does for several kings.
