Paul is writing his final letter to the church at Corinth, defending his apostolic authority against members who demanded evidence that Christ spoke through him. In verse 3 he turns their demand back on them: the proof they want will be shown when he arrives, because Christ, who was crucified in weakness yet lives by God's power, is not weak toward them but powerful among them.
