2 Kings 23:25 meaning and explanation
Neither before nor after Josiah was there any king like him, who turned to the LORD with all his heart and with all his soul and with all his strength, according to all the Law of Moses.
2 Kings 23:25, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
This verse is the narrator's verdict on King Josiah, who has just read the Book of the Covenant to all Judah, renewed the covenant, and swept away idols from Geba to Beersheba, even into Samaria. The language deliberately echoes Deuteronomy 6:5, the command to love the LORD with all one's heart, soul, and strength, so the writer is saying Josiah kept the Law's central command.
