2 Kings 3:2 meaning and explanation
And he did evil in the sight of the LORD, but not as his father and mother had done. He removed the sacred pillar of Baal that his father had made.
2 Kings 3:2, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Jehoram (also called Joram) has just become king of Israel, and the narrator weighs his reign against the standard of the LORD. His father Ahab and mother Jezebel had promoted Baal worship outright, so the removal of the sacred pillar Ahab had made is a real, if partial, reform.
