3 John 1:6 meaning and explanation
They have testified to the church about your love. You will do well to send them on their way in a manner worthy of God.
3 John 1:6, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The elder, likely the apostle John, writes to his friend Gaius about itinerant missionaries who had returned and reported to the church how Gaius had shown them love. In the first century, traveling teachers depended on the hospitality of local believers, and "send them on their way" meant supplying food, money and safe passage for the next stage of their journey.
