3 John 1:8 meaning and explanation
Therefore we ought to support such men, so that we may be fellow workers for the truth.
3 John 1:8, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
The elder, likely the apostle John, writes to Gaius about itinerant missionaries who went out “on behalf of the Name,” meaning the name of Jesus, and accepted nothing from the Gentiles, the nonbelievers they preached to. Since these workers took no support from those they evangelized, the church was responsible for them.
