Acts 11:7 meaning and explanation
Then I heard a voice saying to me, ‘Get up, Peter, kill and eat.’
Acts 11:7, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Peter is retelling the vision he received in Joppa, standing before the circumcised believers in Jerusalem who had challenged him for eating with uncircumcised men (verses 2 and 3). The voice from heaven commands him to kill and eat the animals in the sheet, and his refusal in the next verse shows how deeply his Jewish food laws shaped him.
