Acts 13:5, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Barnabas and Saul have just been set apart by the Holy Spirit and sent out from Antioch, and Cyprus is their first stop. Salamis, on the island's east coast, had a large Jewish community and several synagogues, so preaching there first follows the pattern Paul keeps throughout Acts, taking the message to the Jews before turning to the Gentiles.
