Acts 14:7 meaning and explanation

where they continued to preach the gospel.

Acts 14:7, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

After the threats in Iconium, Paul and Barnabas fled to the Lycaonian towns of Lystra and Derbe, and this short verse tells us they did not treat the flight as a retreat from mission. The gospel, the good news that Jesus is the promised Messiah and risen Lord, was still what they preached, now to a largely pagan audience rather than a synagogue.
