Acts 23:15 meaning and explanation
Now then, you and the Sanhedrin petition the commander to bring him down to you on the pretext of examining his case more carefully. We are ready to kill him on the way.”
Acts 23:15, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
These words come from the more than forty men who had bound themselves with an oath not to eat or drink until Paul was dead (verses 12 to 14). They ask the chief priests and elders to request that the Roman commander bring Paul down to the Sanhedrin, supposedly to examine his case more carefully, while the conspirators wait to kill him on the road.
