Acts 24:3 meaning and explanation
In every way and everywhere, most excellent Felix, we acknowledge this with all gratitude.
Acts 24:3, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Tertullus, a professional advocate hired by the high priest Ananias, is addressing Governor Felix in a formal Roman court at Caesarea. His opening is standard courtroom flattery: he credits Felix with peace and reforms, then thanks him "in every way and everywhere." The Greek word for "most excellent" (kratistos) is a title of respect for ranking officials, also used of Theophilus in Luke 1:3.
