Acts 25:3, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
In Acts 25 the Roman governor Festus has just taken office and traveled to Jerusalem, where the chief priests and Jewish leaders press their case against Paul, who has been imprisoned two years. Their request for a "concession" (Greek charis, a favor) sounds legal, but Luke tells us plainly that they planned an ambush to kill Paul on the road to Jerusalem.
