Amos 5:24 meaning and explanation
But let justice roll on like a river, and righteousness like an ever-flowing stream.
Amos 5:24, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Amos speaks to the prosperous northern kingdom of Israel, where worship at Bethel and Gilgal was flourishing while courts were corrupt and the poor were crushed. In verses 21 to 23 God rejects the people's feasts, offerings and songs, not because ritual was wrong in itself but because it was offered alongside injustice.
