Colossians 1:26 meaning and explanation
the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed to His saints.
Colossians 1:26, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is describing his commission from God to proclaim the word fully to the Colossian believers. The "mystery" he names is not a puzzle to solve but a truth long concealed and now disclosed: God's plan to include the Gentiles among His people, which he spells out in verse 27 as "Christ in you, the hope of glory." In the Greek, mystērion means a secret God Himself reveals in His own timing, not something hidden forever.
