Colossians 4:5 meaning and explanation
Act wisely toward outsiders, redeeming the time.
Colossians 4:5, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Paul is closing his letter to the church at Colossae, writing from prison, and here he turns from prayer to daily conduct. "Outsiders" means those outside the Christian community, and "redeeming the time" carries the sense of buying back or making the most of every opportunity, the Greek word for time being kairos, a moment or season rather than mere clock time.
