and he commanded some mighty men of valor in his army to tie up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego and throw them into the blazing fiery furnace.

King Nebuchadnezzar has just heard Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego refuse to worship his golden statue, and his rage turns to action. The "mighty men of valor" are his own soldiers, ordered to bind the three Jewish officials in their robes and throw them into the furnace.
