Deuteronomy 1:22 meaning and explanation
Then all of you approached me and said, “Let us send men ahead of us to search out the land and bring us word of what route to follow and which cities to enter.”
Deuteronomy 1:22, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Moses is speaking to Israel on the plains of Moab, retelling how the people, camped at Kadesh-barnea, asked to send scouts into the land God had promised them. Their request sounds reasonable, and Moses agreed to it, but in the fuller story the spies' report fed the fear that kept the nation out of the land for a generation.
