Deuteronomy 10:22 meaning and explanation
Your fathers went down to Egypt, seventy in all, and now the LORD your God has made you as numerous as the stars in the sky.
Deuteronomy 10:22, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Moses is speaking to the Israelites on the plains of Moab, summing up God's faithfulness before they enter Canaan. He recalls Jacob's family going down to Egypt as just seventy people (Genesis 46:27), then contrasts that small beginning with the vast nation now standing before him, fulfilling the promise to Abraham that his offspring would be like the stars (Genesis 15:5).
