Deuteronomy 14:29 meaning and explanation
Then the Levite (because he has no portion or inheritance among you), the foreigner, the fatherless, and the widow within your gates may come and eat and be satisfied. And the LORD your God will bless you in all the work of your hands.
Deuteronomy 14:29, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Moses is teaching Israel how to live as God's holy people in the land. Every third year the tithe was not carried to the sanctuary but stored in the local towns, and this verse names who eats from it: the Levite, who had no land inheritance, along with the foreigner, the fatherless and the widow.
