Deuteronomy 28:23 meaning and explanation
The sky over your head will be bronze, and the earth beneath you iron.
Deuteronomy 28:23, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Moses is speaking to Israel on the plains of Moab, setting before the people the blessings of obedience and the curses of covenant breaking. Verse 23 falls within the curses, and its images are drawn from the land itself: a sky like bronze gives no rain, and ground like iron yields no crop.
