Deuteronomy 28:38 meaning and explanation
You will sow much seed in the field but harvest little, because the locusts will consume it.
Deuteronomy 28:38, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Moses is speaking to Israel on the plains of Moab, setting before the people the blessings of covenant obedience and the curses of covenant breaking before they enter the land. Verse 38 falls within the curses, and its form is striking: sowing much but harvesting little reverses the ordinary hope of a farmer.
