Deuteronomy 3:12, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Moses is speaking to the Israelites on the plains of Moab, recalling how the land east of the Jordan was won from Sihon and Og and then divided. The Reubenites and Gadites had asked for this territory because of their large herds, and Moses granted them the region from Aroer on the Arnon Valley and half of Gilead with its cities, on the condition that their fighting men cross the Jordan ahead of the other tribes.
