Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything.

Paul is writing to believers in Ephesus, and in this household section he addresses wives and husbands directly. He has just called the husband the head of the wife as Christ is head of the church, and verse 24 draws the comparison out: the church's submission to Christ is the pattern.
