Now announce to the people that men and women alike should ask their neighbors for articles of silver and gold.”
Exodus 11:2, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
God has just announced the final plague to Moses, and before it falls he instructs the Israelites to request silver and gold objects from their Egyptian neighbors. The Hebrew verb often rendered "ask" can also carry the sense of borrowing or requesting, and the chapter notes that the LORD gave the people favor with the Egyptians.
