Explanation preview
The LORD is instructing Moses on Mount Sinai, giving detailed plans for the ark of the covenant, the gold-covered chest that will hold the Testimony, the tablets of the law. These rings are practical hardware: cast from gold and fixed to the ark's four feet, two on each side, they will receive the acacia-wood poles so the ark can be carried without being touched.
