Exodus 28:8 meaning and explanation
And the skillfully woven waistband of the ephod must be of one piece, of the same workmanship—with gold, with blue, purple, and scarlet yarn, and with finely spun linen.
Exodus 28:8, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
God is speaking to Moses on Mount Sinai, describing the garments Aaron and his sons will wear as priests. The ephod was an ornate outer vest, and its waistband, called in Hebrew the cheshev, a woven or skillfully worked band, had to be made as one piece with it, from the same costly materials: gold thread and blue, purple and scarlet yarn on fine linen.
