Exodus 39:30 meaning and explanation

They also made the plate of the holy crown of pure gold, and they engraved on it, like an inscription on a seal: HOLY TO THE LORD.

Exodus 39:30, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Exodus 39 describes the completion of the tabernacle and the priestly garments, and verse 30 focuses on the gold plate worn on Aaron's turban. The Hebrew phrase engraved on it, qodesh la Yahweh, means "set apart to the LORD." Like a seal pressed into clay, the inscription marked the high priest as belonging entirely to God.
