Ezekiel 11:20 meaning and explanation

so that they may follow My statutes, keep My ordinances, and practice them. Then they will be My people, and I will be their God.

Ezekiel 11:20, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

Ezekiel is in exile in Babylon, and God has just promised to regather the scattered Israelites and replace their hearts of stone with hearts of flesh (verses 17 to 19). Verse 20 states the purpose of that inner change: obedience that flows from a transformed heart rather than outward conformity alone.
