Ezekiel 13:17 meaning and explanation

Now, O son of man, set your face against the daughters of your people who prophesy out of their own imagination. Prophesy against them

Ezekiel 13:17, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

God addresses Ezekiel as "son of man," the title he uses for the prophet throughout the book. Having just condemned Israel's male prophets for speaking from their own imagination rather than from God, the Lord now turns Ezekiel toward the "daughters of your people," women in the exile who likewise prophesy out of their own hearts.
