Ezekiel 14:7 meaning and explanation
For when any Israelite or any foreigner dwelling in Israel separates himself from Me, sets up idols in his heart, and puts a wicked stumbling block before his face, and then comes to the prophet to inquire of Me, I the LORD will answer him Myself.
Ezekiel 14:7, Berean Standard Bible
Explanation preview
Ezekiel 14:7 continues God's word through the prophet to the elders of Israel, who had come to consult him while secretly holding idols in their hearts. The verse widens the warning beyond native Israelites to any foreigner living among them: outward membership in the community means nothing if the heart has turned away.
