Ezekiel 16:10 meaning and explanation

I clothed you in embroidered cloth and gave you sandals of fine leather. I wrapped you in fine linen and covered you with silk.

Ezekiel 16:10, Berean Standard Bible

Explanation preview

God speaks through Ezekiel to Jerusalem, picturing her as an abandoned newborn he rescued, washed and adorned. Verse 10 continues the bridal imagery of the two verses before: having pledged himself to her in covenant, God dresses his bride in embroidered cloth, fine leather sandals, linen and a costly covering, probably silk.
