God speaks through Ezekiel to Jerusalem, using the image of an abandoned infant he rescued, married and adorned, only for her to become an unfaithful wife. Verse 45 presses the family picture further: Jerusalem is a true daughter of her mother and a true sister of her sisters, sharing their contempt for husband and children.
